Final reconfirmation checklist
This page is here so the fragile parts of the itinerary do not get lost in the larger site. Use it as the compact preflight checklist for the trip as booked.
2–3 weeks before
- Check Day 2 road status assumptions for the Transfăgărășan and note the fallback valley-road routing.
- Reconfirm the van rental, pickup / return terms, and any child-seat or luggage assumptions.
- Verify all lodging contact methods and save offline directions for the rural stays.
- Review the cost page and decide whether any attraction or meal categories need trimming.
72 hours before
- Recheck Peleș opening timing / ticket plan.
- Recheck CFR timing for Brașov → Galați and Galați → Bucharest.
- Confirm any late-arrival sensitive host stays, especially Orlat and Ocna Șugatag.
- Make sure the Day 10 Ghimbav van-return sequence still matches the rest of the day.
Night before the fragile days
- Day 2: check weather, fuel, and mountain-road conditions.
- Day 10: have Salina tickets / fees, lunch timing, and van-return instructions ready.
- Day 13 / 15: make sure bags are packed in a rail-friendly way and station plan is clear.
- Any day with timed attractions: screenshot tickets / opening-hour pages.
Morning of
- Use a quick bathroom / snack / water reset before leaving on any hard day.
- Do not improvise extra stops until the anchor stop or transfer is secure.
- Keep one person responsible for tickets / confirmations and another for luggage count.
- Default to the calmer version if the group energy is clearly poor in the morning.
